Does your district/school allow your honor society to take field trips during "normal school hours"?

We would like to take our chapter to Cedar Point during the school day but our district says it's not educational so we cannot go.

The purpose of the MASC and MAHS shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership and to develop character in the students of secondary schools in Michigan.
