Get It Together
Knowing that student leadership is, for most of you, just a small part of your day, here are a couple tools that can be used for your "regular ed" classes, or as a neat way to get your council or chapter communicating in one location, accessible from anywhere. Think of it as an extension of your office, desk or bulletin board - a place to store information, connect with students, share ideas, work on projects and more!
PBwiki is one we use at MASC/MAHS for a variety of groups - our State Board of Delegates, Camp Staff, and our planning committees for the State Conference. They're easy to use and free. Think of it as a group notebook - everyone can contribute, you control who sees what and who can add/delete content - all online. You can monitor everything that happens through your email, which means one less website to check out each day or each week!
Classroomn is more of a social network. Constantly hearing students talk about Myspace and Facebook? You can fight 'em or join 'em.... here's a social networking site controlled by YOU, the teacher! While we haven't explored this ourselves, we're looking forward to one of you trying it out!!
