What is the difference between an MAHS membership and an NHS or NJHS membership?

MAHS membership does not include NHS membership. NHS membership does not include MAHS membership. Let's refer to them as State (MAHS) and National (NHS) to make it more clear. The State membership grants you reduced rates at all MAHS conferences for students and Advisers, various communication services including an e-newsletter, exclusive access to our website, and other benefits. The National membership grants you reduced rates at National conferences, subscription to Leadership magazine, insignia, and certain access to materials.

MAHS does not require our members to be members of the National office; nor does the National office require it's members to be part of the state association. Your NHS Chapter, however, is not a legit NHS Chapter if you do not belong to NHS. You are an "Honor Society", but not a "NATIONAL Honor Society". You can be in either one; you can be in both. As a State Association, we do recommend (not require) membership in NHS for our members and for all schools operating an Honor Society.

For current membership details and pricing, please see our MEMBERSHIP page and visit the NHS website.
