Hello everyone!
It’s the start of a new year…get yourself and your school active! The new and improved www.mascmahs.org website is great for fundraising ideas, charity weeks, conference information and much more!
My student council just recently held a cell phone drive. It is an excellent fundraiser! It does not cost your school any money. What my council did is made a “drop box” and put it in our advisor’s classroom (I would recommend placing it in your school’s office because we had some dishonest people try to sneak phones out of the box!) for people to donate their unused cell phones. The cell phones don’t need to be in great condition. Cell phones should be donated with the battery…chargers and accessories are not worth anything to recycle. My council will send them to the Pace Butler Corporation. They would pay us to recycle them. It is great because we get 100% of the profits to put towards the charity, “Alternatives in Motion.” I recommend a cell phone drive to anyone! For more information on how to get a Cell Phone Drive started in your school, go to www.pacebutler.com.
My student council bought “Live in Motion” bracelets to sell to support “Alternatives in Motion.” We bought 200, a little over half of our Junior High School, and plan to sell them for $2.00 per bracelet (if you buy bracelets in sets of 100, you pay $1.00 per bracelet). We plan to sell them in the mornings and during lunch, at basketball games, etc. It’s great in the fact that this doesn’t really cost you anything because you pay $1.00 per bracelet, sell them for $2.00, and can donate $1.00 per bracelet to your charity and get your money that you paid for the bracelets back by keeping $1.00 per bracelet!
I hope everyone will check out our website at www.mascmahs.org and use these fundraising ideas. If you have any questions, contact me at ryguy_mars23@hotmail.com or go to our website. I wish everyone a great New Year!
