How do we calculate GPA for determining eligibility (i.e., candidate status) for our students?

The National Handbook provides a thorough explanation of this matter in the chapter on Selection Procedures.

Technology Tools

Below are two slideshow presentations based on technology tools that advisers and students may find useful in managing projects, group members and more. Please feel free to view the presentations, understanding that you are only viewing the slides - the audio of the presentation is NOT included!

Organize, Advertise, Connect!

This presentation was developed for students attending the NHS National Conference 2008 (November 2008 - Orlando, FL).

It's Delicious!

Delicious LogoLooking for resources, ideas or curriculum out on the internet? We can save you a lot of time and energy! In our travels around the world wide web, we have bookmarked/saved the websites we felt were most relevant to advisers and students involved in leadership. We categorized them, gave them keywords/tagwords and made them all searchable for you! Well, we didn't exactly do it on our own, we used what is called a social bookmarking service, Delicious!

The Challenge of Acquiring Leadership and Maintaining Personal Wellness

Submitted by Kelsey on Thu, 10/09/2008 - 07:25.

Take a minute and imagine that you are blowing up a balloon, keep blowing and blowing never letting any of the air escape. With every breath the pressure inside the balloon increases as the outside of the balloon is becoming increasingly stressed. If air continues to be forced into the balloon it will eventually explode. The feeling of the swelling pressure inside the balloon is a likeness to how many high school leaders feel in today’s world with all of the academic, personal and societal demands.

ARE PARENTAL WAIVERS WORTH THE PAPER THEY'RE PRINTED ON?

From Thrun Law Firm

The Michigan Court of Appeals recently ruled that a pre-activity waiver of liability signed by a parent or legal guardian does not waive a child's right to sue for injuries sustained while engaging in that activity. Woodman v Kera,

L.L.C., __ Mich App __ (2008).

What The Wiki?

Filing Folders

So much information, in so many places.
So much to share, no good way to get it out there.
So much to collect, no way to track it all.

One aggravation for leadership advisers, executive officers and committee chairs is information management. How do you make sure everyone's on the "same page"? How do you establish ONE location for all the information that needs to be disseminated and collected? And the mounds of paperwork - come on! Not only does it add clutter, it's not very green.
