Success Story:
First of all let me just say that I would never be where I am today without my experiences with MASC and my years in Student Council. Since my graduation with the class of 2007, I have moved onto campus at Baker College in Owosso, Michigan. When I left high school I thought my life in student leadership was over, that there would be no more opportunities for me to continue my passion in leadership. Then RHA fell into my lap. RHA is the Residence Hall Association that functions like a StuCo or StuGo but in college. I immediately became involved and fell in love all over again. My first Executive Board position with RHA was the Philanthropy and Fundraising Chair for two consecutive terms. Then in the winter of 09' I was elected as the President of RHA. RHA not only functions just on my campus but we have what is called MORHA....the Michigan Organization of Residence Hall Associations....basically the MASC but for college! I have learned so much from these organizations and have continued to grow as a person and a student leader. In the Spring of 2008 I was also elected to another amazing position. I has the opportunity of serving on the Executive Board or MORHA as the Director of Public Relations. The final and most exciting moment in my college leadership experience was my trip to Indiana for GLACURH 2009. This is the entire Great Lakes Region Conference for college student government organizations like RHA. It was the opportunity of a lifetime. I learned so much from this conference as well as all of the conference and organizations, I have had the amazing opportunity of being involved with student government in high school and now in college. If you love what you do and have an passion for leadership then keep going with it. Look on your campus when you go off to college, there are hall councils, RHA, NRHH, and many more. Stay with it. "Let the beauty of what you love, be what you do" -Rumi
