Success Story:
During my third year of college I transferred to Michigan State University and began working part-time at the MASSP office just doing clerical work. Over the first year working there, I gained so much experience in regards to both the principals side of the operation and student leadership side. A sequence of events resulted in the Student Leadership Coordinator position opening up and I was asked to step in and take the job. When I was part of MASC/MAHS as a student, I always thought it would be incredible to "one day" do that job - maybe after I had been teaching for a few years or something along those lines. I never dreamed the job would come to me that early on! Now into my seventh year, I have expanded from the office of Student Leadership into handling the websites and many technology projects. I still enjoy the work I do and the people I get to work with here in the office and the many staff I work with at our summer camps. And during all that, I finally graduated from MSU with a degree in Deaf Education.
