Highlights of My Success Since High School
Current Employer:
Student, University of Michigan
Success Story:
Becoming an active member of MASC/MAHS through camp, conferences, and the state board defined my leadership capabilities and inspired me to never stop being an active voice on the issues that are important to you. On and off campus, I have taken on many leadership roles that have been made possible by that training, as well as the amazing alumni network of this organization. On campus, I serve as the Vice President of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts Student Government which is the governing body of the schools liberal arts college and its 16,000 students. In this role, I serve alongside fellow MASC/MAHS alumni lobbying the university administration on behalf of students, as well as planning major events that effect the whole student population. I have also represented the United States as an Ambassador for Change as part of the World Wildlife Fund Voyage for the Future. The program sent 2 college students from 9 countries to the Arctic to learn about climate change and advocate for policy and action to combat it. I firmly believe that all of these successes started with the leadership development training that I received as a freshman and continued throughout my high school career.
