Scholarship Opportunities for the 2011 MASC/MAHS Summer Camps
Congratulations to all of the schools who were named recipients of the SET-SEG Foundation Scholarship. MASC/MAHS is honored that you choose to donate over $20,000 to allowing students of Michigan high schools to attend our summer camp. Did you miss out on the SET-SEG selection process? Not to fear, there are a few more opportunities for financial assistance with the 2011 camps.
MASC/MAHS believes that all students should have an opportunity for an experience such as camp. We understand that while an action-packed week such as this one is a value, it still runs a steep price tag for many families in Michigan.
Before reading some of the scholarship opportunities that remain, we hope that you take a moment to think about school or community organizations in YOUR area that may be willing to contribute to your camp experience. We still have weeks before the event, and over the 20+ years of existence, we have seen students fund their trip to camp in a number of ways. Talk to your student activity adviser, your principal, or community leaders about your aspirations--you may be surprised!
MASC/MAHS "Mr K" Memorial Scholarship Program
In existence since 2007, the "Mr. K" scholarship program was created by the family of Mr. Jack Kalousek--longtime supporter of MASC/MAHS and activity adviser at Livonia Franklin High School. Sustained today by family, friends, and volunteers of MASC/MAHS--this scholarship allows students a chance to illustrate their intentions to take their camp hopes for the scholarship selection committee. As the need grows, we would like to note that most of the "Mr. K" scholarships will be a portion of the camp fee, rather than the entire amount. This program is open to those who wish to participate in both the SHS (Senior High School) and JAM (Junior High and Middle Level) Camps, and are currently (2010-2011) in 6th-11th grade.
