I am currently in trimester 2 of my junior year, and let me tell you it is kicking my butt. Everyone tells you that junior year is hard, but I was never expecting this. If i'm not doing homework, I am juggling ACT prep, new student council activities or trying to make plans with my friends, with there busy schudules too. Junior year really teaches you how to manage your time well, and choosing homework instead of updating your facebook status.

Usually after the excitement of homecoming is over, we start to plan our S.M.A.R.T goals as a council. Every year I feel we have the same 4 or 5 goals. Increase pints at blood drive, donate money for state charity, increase particapation at snowcoming, get more people involved in spirit says and bond as a council. I understand that all of these are all really good goals but sometimes I think there needs to be a "f" in S.M.A.R.T for fresh, we need more fresh goals. Things to get us excited, to refocus us and make us remember why we love being in are councils so much! So now that I suggested some new goals, we have a couple new potential pet projects that could be really good for are school as well as council.

As school comes around to a start, so does homecoming, if it aready hasn't from some of you!
At my school we have "float" which is a competiton, outside of student council, where each class
(seniors, juniors, sophmores, freshman) compete in building the best float. The float is pulled through
town on the night of the homecoming game, in our parade. I am hoping that some other schools do this,
so I can get some ideas on how to get more students to show up and help out. Every year we get the same kids
coming usually the student council kids, and they bring a friend or two. If anyone has an ideas on how to get
more people to come, I would really love to hear them! Thank you!
