Homecoming= Perfect time to Refocus on BE goals.

Submitted by bettereveryday on Thu, 10/02/2008 - 02:21.

Alright, Well it has been quite a few months since camp and I am sure many of you have pushed BE goals, passion to action, and planning camp reunions all to the side because of all the chaos that school has brought on to your lives, which is understandable. However, this may be a good reminder for everyone. It's homecoming time...stress levels are through the roof, everyone's ideas are being collaborated, floats are being built, class competitions are beginning, what better time then ever to refocus on your BE goal. With so many people working together, and so much to do it is easy to let stress get the best of you. I just want to remind everyone to push through the stress and continue your journey to becoming a better person everyday.

be.

These last few weeks of summer have been busy. I've been getting ready for my first year of college; organizing, packing, spending last moments with friends, and deciding who I want to {be}. I've been working on my {be} goal for over a year now and I am a totally different person. I am confident in who I am, my decisions, my appearance, and my dreams. It has been pretty easy to be positive when I am in a comfortable place in my life...living at home and being around family and friends that care about me so much.

This is where it may get tough...

Since I am going to college, I am going to be by myself. I won't have my family around me all of the time...I need to make the decisions each morning to be a happy and confident person. I need to be my own cheeleader.

Better Everyday Again

So, it has been two weeks since camp ended. Two weeks! How is that possible? I hope everyone is doing well with their BE Goals (I'd love to hear!).
I have to be honest in saying that I've slipped a bit with mine. My BE goal is to Be Healthy. I've been a type I diabetic since I was five (if you really want to know, it's 29.5 years being diabetic). I'd like to live a long, healthy life. I'd also like to lose some weight. By improving my physical health, I can improve my emotional health and spend a lot less time focusing on how I should look or feel and focus more on life's experiences.
