At my school, we are fortunate enough to have a Leadership Class. In our first semester, our main events are Homecoming and our Caring and Sharing week. With the new executive board getting up and running and the new class gets situated, it is necessary for our adviser to play a bigger role in order to make sure everything is smooth sailing.
However, we aren’t called Student Leadership for nothing! In our second semester of school it is completely student ran. This of course means that not everything is as big of a success as we would want it to be or that it exceeds the vision that we have set. However—it does mean that it is a HUGE learning experience for everyone in the program. Of course we come across our fair share of issues but it is amazing to see what a dedicated group of students can pull together. I am interested to hear how other schools structure their Student Leadership classes and other Student Government programs. Feel free to comment below or write your own blog!
Good luck second semester!
